Late night BU/Volleyball Tournament
Hey guys!
This last weekend was so busy but really really fun! I actually had a volleyball tournament at U of I on Saturday that lasted pretty much the whole day. I can honestly say that it was the best day I’ve had pretty much all year — I was soo incredibly happy and excited all day! It was wonderful to be playing in a tournament again and be surrounded by volleyball, volleyball, and more volleyball. We played five matches (ten games), and refereed for a few games too. Usually when teams win one and lose one game, it goes on to a third game to determine the winner, but in this tournament they limited all the matches to two games so that the tournament would not go on for too long (although it still went really long anyway — we got out of there at around 6 p.m. and we’d been playing since 8 a.m.). There were 18 other teams at the tournament, and I think about six teams in our pool.
All in all, it was a really really fun day and I bonded so much with all my teammates. It was awesome! And getting up at 4:45 a.m. was worth it (surprisingly – that’s really early)! I’m so glad I’m doing club volleyball.
Anyway, when I got back to campus Saturday night I went to see the comedian Alex House who was performing in Lydia’s lounge at 9 p.m. She was pretty funny, and there were a lot of people there! I was surprised at how many people showed up on a Saturday night; it was really cool to see. There are a lot more events coming up in Lydia’s lounge from now on — I’m looking forward to seeing what other events they come up with! They have food services now too which is nice to be able to have a late night snack, and it’s convenient because you can use your meal plan money or quickcash money from your BU ID to buy it. I included a couple pictures from the comedy night, but I was too busy playing volleyball to get any pictures of our tournament! At our next one at Eastern in a few weekends though I’m going to try to get some photos. See ya! - Kristin
