First official day of Fall!
Hi!
Today is the official start of Autumn! It really doesn’t feel like it though, the temperature is in the 80’s! Well, just at 80, but that’s still really warm for fall! But hey, at least the weather is not uncharacteristic in the sense that it’s too cold to be considered fall, that would be a lot worse. Anyway, a lot of people went home this last weekend for various reasons, including myself, so I wasn’t on campus all weekend. One of my friends went home to go to homecoming with his girlfriend from home, one went to work, and I just went to see my family! My sister was home so I thought it was a good weekend to go home so I could see her too (she lives in Chicago now and works full-time as a nurse). I heard that there were a bunch of fraternity parties over the weekend while I was gone. The new members of Greek life just got initiated a week or so ago so there’s been a lot of stuff going on since then over on Fredonia avenue where most of the Fraternity and Sorority houses are.
This Thursday, the first production of the year from the Theatre Department is beginning to have performances. It’s called, “Pirates of Penzance.” I actually have not made it to any of the theatre productions, so I’m excited to go and see what they’re all about. I’ve heard reviews from last year, however, and from what I hear there are some really talented people and the performances are great. So I will let you know how that goes once I go later this week or next week.
My friend is also in a band that plays around campus a lot, called “the Dirty Fools Project,” and they’re supposed to be playing this Friday at 8 p.m. in Lydia’s lounge, the old U-Hall cafeteria, so I’m going to hopefully check that out too.
Until the, enjoy the weather! -Kristin
