FINALLY BACK TO SCHOOL!!

I cannot BELIEVE how wonderful it is to be back at school! I’m sorry I couldn’t blog to you all over the summer…it’s hard to access the Bradley network from Berea, Ohio!!! I got back into town on Saturday and started working here in the admissions office yesterday, and what a day it was! Monday was the first day of my NEW position…I am now (officially) one of the interns here in the admissions office! VERY cool.

Life on campus is a bit different because not everyone is back yet. A lot of the Greek houses are having their “work week,” where they renovate their houses and get them ready for fall recruitment. Also, a lot of the faculty and staff are back, getting syllabi ready and narrowing down the reading selections. It’s an interesting feeling to be back: you know that classes are going to start soon, but you’re not even closed to focused on those yet, because you can’t wait to see your friends that you haven’t seen for 3 months. That’s especially true for me- between working 40 hours a week (saving up for school, of course) and the really high gas prices AND my lack of a decent car, I couldn’t really make any trips out to Illinois to see my friends. But now that I know that they’ll be back in less than a week, I can’t help but be really really excited!!!!

As for things in the admissions office, things are starting to get busy. We (the interns and our boss, Cory Craig) will be setting up booths at both the Part-Time Employment Expo AND the Activities Fair, both of which will happen next week during Welcome Week. These are two of the big ways we recruit our new STARs! So if you’re looking for a job and are outgoing, energetic, and can barely contain your love for Bradley, we want you! Stop by and see us and we’ll give you an application.

Over than that, things are going really well. I can’t wait to get this year started already!!!

Cheers,

Kevin
