It’s Almost APRIL!?!?!
Hey all! Sorry for the long wait….I had a very ridiculous early March that led into an AWESOME Spring Break! The Chorale went on our annual spring tour, and this year we sang all over the midwest! We gave concerts in Watseka, IL, Lafayette, IN and Indianapolis, IN, and even Cincinnatti, OH! (yeah home state!) It was a really awesome time. I got to know all of my chorale friends even better and got to sing for a lot of really grateful, awesome people. After tour was done I went back home to Cleveland area. It was nice to be able to sit back and relax, but it kind of stunk because we got DUMPED on with snow. Even on the first (official) day of Spring! We got 6 inches on snow! Geez. So that was one reason why I couldn’t wait to get back to campus. Plus, I was kind of getting sick of my little brother…haha. Speaking on my little brother, he just reminded me of something. My mom keeps nagging on him because he hasn’t made a decision on where he wants to go to college yet, and I noticed this when I was home. Working in the admissions office, I get the unique opportunity to kind of see both sides of the coin. My brother really wants to wait and see which school really appeals to him and how much financial aid each school is willing to give, and my mom just wants to make sure he’s in the “right” college. I really wanted to make sure I didn’t make one upset the other, so I basically said to both of them: it’ll be okay. Just make sure that you take your time going through each college and re-evaluate what you consider to be important aspects: size of the campus, location (that’s a big one!), the kinds of programs/majors you want, the extracurricular groups you want, that kind of thing. The important thing to remember is that college is a whole-life experience, not just in the classroom. And then my mom and brother both said that was plenty and I should save the sales speech for the admissions office….haha! In all seriousness, it is getting down to crunch time in terms of final decisions for a lot of colleges, not just Bradley. So even if Bradley is 2nd or 3rd on your list, go through all the schools on your list and just think about what really matters to you in a school. *sigh* but the semester keeps going….I’m off to my voice lesson. Don’t be afraid to email any questions! Good luck with everything!
