Homesickness & the New Semester
No lies, everyone- this semester’s kind of getting to me. I’ve been doing my work and keeping busy here in the admissions office and all that, but yesterday I got some mail that made me feel really homesick. My mom sent me a Valentine’s Day card, and so did my Dad and step-Mom. So needless to say I was feeling kind of weird yesterday. It really got me thinking about why I came so far away just to go to school, and when I was thinking about it, I really couldn’t picture myself anywhere else. Sure, I’m 8 hours from home, but when it comes down to it I feel like this is home sometimes. But if I ever do need to get home, like over Thanksgiving or Winter Break, it was so easy to just hop on the Peoria Charter (which stops right across the street from my dorm) and go up to Chicago to catch a flight to Cleveland, which then means it’s only 20 minutes to my house! Also, I keep running into people who are from the Cleveland area, and lot of them said that they’d be more than willing to work out a ride situation if any of us ever needs to get home.
Moral of the blog: Sure, we all get homesick and think about going home. And if you want to, there are ways to get home, no matter how far away you live. But for me, I’d so rather spend my time here at Bradely- it’s truly my home away from home!
Ok, so that was sappy, but it’s true.
That’s all for this week. Take care and make sure you get your appliations in!!!!
