Are we SURE this is Fall?!!?
Despite the fact that it’s officially FALL now, the sun refuses to stay hidden for more than day. Yesterday, it was rainy and chilly, and today it’s sunny and about 60 degrees outside. Not that I’m complaining THAT much, but it’s time to start crunching through the leaves and bundling up in hoodies and gloves and hats. Midterms were last week, so that was kind of stressful. But this week seems to be shaping up quite nicely, which is helpful. It’s actually Greek Week here on campus, which means that the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council come together and organize events that involve not only the Greek houses but all of campus. Today and tomorrow there’s a massive blood drive going on in the Field House, tomorrow there’s the Scholastic Bowl (think Jeopardy), Thursday is going to be really interesting, that’s when Pan-Fra-Sing happens. Panhellenic-Fraternity Sing is not really singing, but a choreographed dance that all houses have to participate in. Each house needs a specific number of members to attend, usually it’s two fraternity houses to one sorority because of the number of houses. Friday is the day of the service projects- there’s a Big Brothers Big Sisters Cookout over at Meinen Field and there’s also Keepsacks for Kids in the Student Center. It all culminates on Saturday morning when the Greek Games happen. I don’t think I mentioned that each house gets a certain number of points when they participate and have enough people at all events, and this includes the winners of the Greek Games, so the house with the most points at the end is the winner! I’m looking forward to a really fun week. . . even though I have THREE different projects to start on. . . Oh well, I’m sure I’ll find the time. Take care everybody, and make sure to email with any questions! See you next week!
