Surreality Meets Reality

Time is already flying by here at Bradley. It doesn’t even seem like it’s been more than 3 weeks! Freshman year is incredible- I’ve met so many people that I’m having a hard time keeping names straight. Even in these three short weeks, I’ve gotten involved in a lot already. Besides classes, I was accepted into the Bradley Chorale, which is one of the music groups here on campus. It’s a great class and a fun way to get to know other people. Everything has just been flying by, it’s like Welcome Week only ended yesterday. The job fair, the Taste of Bradley, the first day of classes. I never in my life thought that me, some kid from Cleveland, would ever wind up in Peoria, Illinois, and be having as much fun as I am. It’s a really surreal feeling, to put that key in your lock for the first time and open up a room that’s all yours- at least for the year. It’s even more surreal to look around and realize that there are professors on this campus that have written textbooks that are used at MIT and Harvard. It’s weird! But at the same time, it’s incredibly cool! It’s really incredible to look around and see that there are so many resources here on campus. Not just in the library, or with professors, but even the other students in the dorms. A lot of them have been at the same point I’m at, and a lot of them are going through it the same way I am. It’s great to know that there are people here that support me and understand the journey we are all on. Oops- Time flies when you’re having fun. I’m off to class! See you guys later!
