It is hard to believe that 2 years have passed since we started work on this project. During the 2008-2009 academic year, we administered the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) to Bradley first-year and senior students and we administered the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) to full-time Bradley faculty. After spending time looking at and analyzing the data, results were presented during the 2010 Fall Forum.
In the meantime, we administered the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) to entering first-year students and graduating seniors during the 2009-2010 academic year. Results of this study were presented at the 2011 Spring Forum.
Also during the Spring forum, a breakout session was conducted on assessment resources. We have listed the resources discussed at the Spring forum in our list of links. If you have any other links to add, please send them to Jenny Gruening at jgruening@bradley.edu.
In the meantime, the assessment team continues to work on the student learning project as defined on our home page.

All Faculty and Staff are invited to participate in the January BU Campus Conversation Series, BUCCS 17, focused on Bradley’s participation in the Assessment Academy. As you may recall from BUCCS 14, Bradley University was one of 15 institutions accepted into The Higher Learning Commission’s Academy for the Assessment of Student Learning in November 2008. The Assessment Academy is a 4-year commitment on behalf of Bradley University to focus on the assessment of student learning through a student learning project. The focus of our project is on the Bradley University Core experience. The project team has drafted Core Competencies for the Bradley Core Experience based on the 2004 General Education document, the Bradley University mission statement and the first BUCCS conversation. Additionally, the team has drafted an assessment plan to begin assessing the core competencies during the 2009-2010 academic year. The team would like to invite you to provide feedback on both the core competencies and the assessment plan during BUCCS 17.
BUCCS 17 will take place on January 20, 2009 from 9:00-11:00 am in the Student Center Executive Suite.
